Case Overview
This project began with a request from the client to create a unique and meaningful logo for the brand “Zami Custom Rod,” dedicated to a fishing group. The client, with a deep interest in cultural elements and traditional art, wanted the logo to reflect the group’s identity through the use of khat, a rich Islamic calligraphy art form steeped in history and aesthetics. The primary focus was to blend modern elements with traditional touches, designing the logo in a circular shape to convey harmony and visual strength. The Jawi letters “Zal” and “Min” were chosen as key elements, as they represent the name “Zami,” forming the foundation of the fishing group’s identity.
The Brief
The client’s request was highly specific, requiring a logo designed using khat style with prominent Jawi letters “Zal” and “Min” to symbolize the name “Zami,” a core part of the “Zami Custom Rod” fishing group’s identity. The Rumi text “Zami Custom Rod” also needed to be included to ensure the brand was easily recognizable to group members and fishing enthusiasts alike. The client emphasized that the design should be circular to reflect perfection and unity while maintaining an elegant simplicity. Additionally, the client requested suggestions for various khat styles to choose from, with a preference for aesthetics that could represent the craftsmanship and camaraderie spirit within the fishing community.
Our Approach
The solution to this project started with an in-depth study of various khat styles, including Khat Farah, Khat Kufi, and Khat Sana, to determine the most suitable option for the client’s needs. I presented initial proposals with visual examples of each khat style in a circular format, complete with simulations of the “Zal” and “Min” letters and the placement of “Zami Custom Rod” text. After discussions and feedback, the client selected Khat Kufi for its robust simplicity and suitability to the energetic theme of the fishing group. The subsequent process involved detailed adjustments, including aligning letter proportions, selecting angles, and integrating circular elements to ensure the design appeared balanced and appealing from various perspectives, aligning with the group’s identity.
The Results
The final logo was successfully designed with great satisfaction using the Khat Kufi style in an appealing circular format, perfectly meeting all the client’s requirements and expectations. The design process incorporated the Rumi text “Zami Custom Rod,” carefully arranged to convey a professional and modern impression, while preserving cultural elements through the prominent Jawi letters “Zal” and “Min,” which reference the name “Zami,” the central symbol of this fishing group. Continuous efforts in refining every detail, from font selection to the arrangement of circular elements, yielded a result that not only met the client’s taste but also reflected the unique identity of “Zami Custom Rod” with striking visual strength and a spirit of camaraderie in the fishing world. The logo is now ready to serve as a powerful symbol for the group, representing craftsmanship, tradition, and collective passion in every fishing session.
